Yamaha’s New TXn Series of Amps

Yamaha TXN Series AmplifiersYamaha has announced it’s next series of amplifiers, the TXn.

This series is part of the Yamaha Commercial line and offers some serious power.  As well, these amps follow the way of the industry, and include on board DSP as well as a mini YGDAI card slot to bring just about any input to your amp.

Lets take a bit of look into the Yamaha TXn Series.

Models

The Yamaha TXn Series will debut in September with three Models, the TX4n, the TX5n, and the TX6n.

Power Power Power

Whats the main thing we all look for in an Amplifier?  Power.

TX4n: Stereo: 1800W @ 8 Ohms, 3000W @ 4 Ohms Bridged: 6000W @ 4 + 8 Ohms

TX5n: Stereo: 1300W @ 8 Ohms, 2200W @ 4 Ohms Bridged: 4400W @ 4 Ohms, 5000W @ 8 Ohms

TX6n: Stereo: 1100W @ 8 Ohms, 1900W @ 4 Ohms Bridged: 3800W @ 4 Ohms, 4400W @ 4 Ohms

Now these amps are Class D but with the EEEngine technology, sound like a class AB Amp while keeping the Class D Power efficiency and weight.

DSP

All of the Yamaha TXn Series has on board DSP… Processing your audio at 96 kHz.

Above and beyond normal amplifier control and monitoring, the TXn series provides all speaker processing you could want, making external processing an option.

Networking

On the back of each Yamaha TXn Amp is an Ethernet port, which allows you to connect the amp either directly to a laptop, or to a router to control or meter the amps via the Yamaha NetworkAmp Manager II.  Of course, you can also control the amps from the front panel.

Inputs and Mini-YGDAI

The TXn series will have a wide variety of inputs.  Included out of the box are analog inputs (xlr) as well as comes with an AES/EBU Mini-TGDAI card installed.  You can remove this card and put in any Mini-YGDAI card to bring any digital input to the amplifier.

Through these cards, you can get full compatibility with CobraNet or EtherSound audio networks.

Pricing

While these amps will not be available until September, List prices have already been released.

For quality, you pay.  These amps may make it into a wide variety of high end installations or into sound company’s racks…

TX6n – $4,699 List

TX5n – $4,199 List
