Rivers Cuomo has recently endorsed the “still-in-beta” Indaba Music DAW.
While River’s endorsement seemed slightly un-enthused as noted by viewers, here is the low down on Indaba.
Indaba
Indaba seems to be a mixing platform, no recording involved just yet (although a record via telephone does exist, we’ll ignore that due to fidelity)…
You upload our own audio files and mix away. Cutting, Pasting, and Moving are all functions available, making this this almost more of a good looping platform, rather than a mixing platform.
Basic controls for mixing are available, Pan and Volume… But not much else can be spotted, at least now in Beta.
The glory of Indaba is not in it’s mixing, but the social aspect. You can create a public session that is viewable by everyone, or Private which is only editable and listenable by those invited.
This really does mark a huge step in online networking and collaboration for musicians. I’m resisting writing too many details, as the platform will be in beta until July. But keep an eye out for this…
You can sign up and test out this beta software…
