Allen and Heath will be showing off their new additions to the iLive digital consoles this coming week at NAMM… The new additions are making the line more and more versatile, and cover the compact and more affordable end of the spectrum.
Neither of these are officially released yet, and are so newly announced that there are no official details on Allen & Heath’s website, but here’s what we have thus far.
iLive R72 Control Surface
The iLive-R72 is the new control surface of the iLive line, and is so small you can put it in a standard 19″ Rack!
Featuring all of the control and flexibility of the larger iLive consoles, the R72 has 12 faders… But this controls the 6 layers that are possible giving you a total of 72 virtual faders.
iDR-16
To go along with the new control surface, there is a new Mix Rack! 16 xlr inputs, and 8 xlr outputs, this is the most compact of the Mix Racks for the iLive system…. In 3 rack spaces!
The iLive System
These additions bring the grand total of control surfaces for the iLive system to 6 control surfaces and 5 Mix Racks…
The idea of the iLive system is it’s all modular. Any control surface can be used with any mix rack. Every mix rack uses the 64×32 RackExtra DSP system. All have pretty much the same feature set with a variable amount of faders and other controls, analog I/O on the console, and Analog I/O on the snake.
While these two new additions aren’t released yet, Allen & Heath will be showing them off at NAMM, and they should be all accounts be shipping in Feb. of this year!
