MXL’s Line Up of New Mics: Cubes, Tubes, and Face Plates

Marshall Electronics has introduced a few new models of microphones this year at NAMM… Everything from drum microphones to microphones with vanity plates, if you will.

MXL (Marshall Electronic’s Microphone Brand) has been at it for quite a few years now, making not only affordable, but very decent studio mics… Lets take a look at their most recent releases.

There are four mics that MXL showcased at NAMM that really caught my attention… First, the Drum Cube.

The Drum Cube

  • Condenser Pressure Gradient Capsule
  • Cardiod
  • 132 dB Max SPL
  • 20 Hz – 20 kHz Frequency Response
  • .85 lbs
  • Small Low Profile Design

The Drum Cube was specifically designed to have a “Big Full Bodied” Sound that is designed for use on transient sources, IE Drums/Percussion, Ect Ect.
