Limited Edition Emu White 0404 Interface… Why?

E-MU has began shipping their “limited edition” White E-MU 0404 USB 2.0.

Now this unit has been out for a while, but for some odd reason E-MU has decided to re-release it in white. Oh yea, and did i mention the list price is $20 higher?

Outside of the odd choice to come out with color options on interfaces (and all along i thought most people into audio were fairly utilitarian with their gear choices), the E-MU 0404 USB 2.0 is a pretty decent unit.

As the name infers, the E-MU 0404 USB 2.0 is 4 In 4 Out (2 Analog, 2 Digital Each). The main selling point of this unit is its better-than-normal hardware level monitoring. You get 5 LED meters on each analog input. Oh yea, and ground lifts on the analog inputs? Nice.

Now there is one minor difference with the shipping units of White E-MU 0404 USB 2.0… They come with the newest drivers and software package, which are Windows Vista Compatible. I’m sure all new black units will ship with this as well, and for old users the Vista compatible software/drivers are available on E-MU’s website.

One last thing. Another high point the E-MU 0404 USB 2.0… Compatiblity with Cubase, Proteus, BIAS, Melodyne, Abelton Live, and more…
