Shure has announced their PG27 USB and PG42 USB at CES and Macworld this week.
In the normal fashion of the PG Line, these are both cheaper versions of the KSM27 and KSM44, with one stark contrast. USB Out!
That’s right, Shure has finally jumped on the USB Mic band wagon with almost every other microphone manufacturer these days. What does it all mean that Shure is finally in the USB Mic Game?
I have a feeling now that Shure is involved, the USB mic will enter the main stream. High quality, over USB with no external interface!
Now for the features of the PG27 USB and PG42 USB…
The Features
- Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphones
- Integrated Pre-Amp
- Integrated 1/8th Inch Headphone Jack (Zero Latency Monitoring)
- Monitor Mix Control (Headphone Jack will relay computer audio as well as mic)
- 16 Bit, 44.1/48 kHz
- Stand Adapter w/ PG27 USB, Shock Mount with PG42USB
Compatability
- Mac OSX 10.1 and Later
- Windows 2000, XP, and Vista (No Mention of 64 Bit Compatibility)
Looks like shure is on to a winner, and will be the new Crown Jewel of the USB Mics.
