EAW has recently began shipping the MW15′s, the big brother to the 12″ Micro Wedges.
Being part EAW innovation, part Rat Sound innovation (Dave Rat championing the bit), it’s needless to say Micro Wedges are soon to be favorites of many sound companies, many touring engineers, and many large clubs very soon.
Here’s the run down on these wedges…

- 126 dB average output OK, 132 dB max
- EAW claims “excellent gain before feedback” and I believe ‘em.
- Single or Bi-Amp Switchable
- Power Rating: 1000W Single, Bi… Lows,1000W Highs,150W
- 2 x NL4 In/Out
- NL4 and Bi Switch Hidden, to reduce step-on mishaps
- Tiny! (comparatively) 14.1″ H (rear), 14.75″ W, 24.2″ W
- Processing “Enhanced,” not Dependant. Optional X-Over/Processing.
- Integral Fly-rack on Bottom
- Multitudes of Pairing Options, Same Size, Different Size, Ect…
note: 126dB average max output is only per 1 cabinet. yes. 1 cabinet. What will you do with that kind of SPL? Keep a very deaf person very happy.
I think these wedges, if they aren’t on their way already, will become the standard for large venue/large events. ClairBros, you’ve lost this one.
