DiGiCo Consoles Get Waves SoundGrid, On Board.

DiGiCo has recently announced that not only will their consoles be getting Waves Plugins, such as the Yamaha consoles have (read here), but they will be able to operate without a SoundGrid Server, doing all of the processing on board!

This is done by an expansion card, which is compatible with the SD7, SD8, or SD9, as well as a PC to control SoundGrid.

This differs from any other Waves SoundGrid setup to date, given that there is no external server (as well as the PC) to process the audio and plugins… It’s quite a bit easier than lugging around a server with you.

SoundGrid for DiGiCo can handle up to 16 Stereo Plug-Ins on the SD8 and SD9, and up to an astounding 32 on the SD7!

Now, of course, you have to buy the expansion card as well as SoundGrid and your preferred Plugin package from waves…
