AKG has recently announced and began shipping the K 121 Studio Headphones… Their new entry level “pro” headphones.
They bear a striking resemblance to the old version of the K 240M/Studio’s, save the detachable cable.
The K 121 Studio Headphones follow in AKG’s tradition of semi-open backed headphones, which work out beautifully for recording, but as i learned, they don’t work so well for live sound.
There seems to be no definite details on their frequency response, outside of they operate from 18 Hz to 22 kHz. I would be one to guess that if they made it into AKG’s Pro Lineup, that they’re well on the way to having as flat of a response as possible.
All this, and available for a MSRP of $99 US.
